behind the scenes
News, tidbits, and a behind the scenes look into the making of my Saranovelas.
All illustrations are hand drawn using a combination of watercolor markers and colored pencils.
HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY, SARANOVELA!
As of April 24th, 2017, Saranovela is 5 years old.
In celebration, I invite you to watch the making of a Saranovela from start to finish: from blank canvas, to pencils, ink, then full color. Timelapse is a truly wonderful thing.
coming (back) soon
I recently unearthed all the old Saranovela comics. The Issue Finder, The G-Spot Positioning System, The Contents of a Woman's Purse Revealed, and the very first Saranovela ever: The Secret Art of Sex Goddess Hair. All these great pieces from many, many moons ago.
And so I am happy to announce that the Saranovela cartoons will be back soon... Stay tuned!
artists weekend retreat
The product of my recent artists weekend retreat up in the Catskills with 3 friends: 1 writer/musician, 1 sculptor and 1 artistically-inclined engineer.
Our thoughtful AirBnB hostess, none other than artist Laleh Khorramian, had a jar of watercolor pencils ready for me on the bedside table. And voila. My version of breakfast in bed.
train to edinburgh
Sketched on the train from London to Edinburgh. (It's tricky business sketching on a moving train! Bumps every 5 seconds).

preparing for the bo concept gallery night
Airweave and BoConcept NY partnered to produce the BoConcept Gallery Night in Chelsea, featuring me and the uber talented Dylon Thomas Burns. There is an entire process of selecting, deselecting and reselecting pieces for an exhibit... equal parts fun and nervewrecking!

One of my early favorites, Girl in the Polka Dot Dress, is the face of my beautiful business cards.
haute couture fine art show
This beauty came to life right after a trip to the magical Isla Mujeres in Mexico. She was first exhibited at the CHUCHU NY Haute Couture Fine Art Show, a collaboration between Set NYC and Freedom Ladder to help end child trafficking.
